Corporate life has a rarity of memorable exits.

Those who manage to spend enough time at a company might, if they're lucky, get a party to celebrate their tenure when they leave, and sometimes the people who get fired have some memorable crash outs. Other than that, though, most job leavers these days get little more than a simple goodbye and perhaps some company swag to remember the experience by.

However, just like anything in life, leaving a job is partly what you make of it. With the right attitude and enough planning, you can make an impression long after you have clocked out for the last time. Whether said impression is something that will get you a good reference or will make you a cautionary tale is up to you. When a role has been bad enough to make your life miserable, it is only natural to go with the latter and enjoy some good old-fashioned revenge.
